"Visited Dal Barone after seeing a trip advisor review and the food was deserving of the high rating...as was the service. The place is a small hole in the wall with a few simple tables. You order the sandwich at the bar...choose from the menu or simply ask the people who ok their to make you somet..."hing...both the man and lady working there when we visited were great and gave really good service. The sandwiches we had were on crispy bread (focaccia) and filled with the freshest ingredients. To drink, there are a couple of bottles of local wine open and some small glasses. You help yourself and tell the owner what you're having. It's 1.50 E a glass. This is a great place for a quick and tasty lunch...well worth a visit.

"I went to this place both for lunch and dinner. Almost like two different places. The lunch crowd was all locals. I ate a leisurely lunch with an attentive waiter who brought me the best dishes of the house. I truly felt I was in heaven. When you walk in, there is an giant salami and prosciutto..." of very high quality, which the waiter slices for your appetizer. I was very excited to have a great repeat meal for dinner a few nights later, only to be in the middle of mobs of tourists fighting to be the first when they open the doors for supper. The food was still excellent, however the lunch was so much more enjoyable.

He was extremely knowledgeable about wine and showed us a video of how the wine we were tasting was pro..."duced. He brought wine for us to try based on our tastes (my fiancé wanted a white for red drinkers and he hasn't stopped talking about the Damijan that Zeno brought out since!). We also ordered some food to go with the wine. We ordered two dishes to share (went for the wine really not the food). This was a real surprise. We ordered 'Asparagus and poached egg' and chicken liver terrine. Both were amazing! The asparagus and poached egg came as two portions in small jars...really sweet of them to do this since we we sharing. When we went back we had one each of these because they were so tasty (seriously, just get one!) and these came in bigger jars. Still amazingly good but the smaller...
