"I've read the negative reviews to date, but in our case our lunch today was superlative. About the only things in the negative reviews that strike any kind of chord are the comments on the sense of humour - or lack thereof - of Madame la serveuse, and on the decor, which is a bit of cottagey-cliché...".
The two waiters who saw to us were polite, unobtrusive and there exactly when needed. The maître at the caisse was very warm and endlessly apologetic when the crest card machine failed twice while we were paying.
Our lunch, the menu de €19,90, was easily one of the best we have had in many trips to France. My wife's croustillante de Camembert was a large, very tasty salad and my moules au gratin was equally good. Me wife's plat, a pavé de saumon, may have been a rich overcooked, but that was counterbalanced by a mouth watering sauce. My confit de canard was exactly the way it should be: the flesh soft and succulent and the skin crisp and crackling, with no excess fat and no gristl...

"We were recommended this restaurant by other vegetarian friends, and not disappointed, the food is utterly amazing, and the best we have eaten in France. The owners like us are strict vegetarians, and have a real talent for hospitality and cuisine. the interior is okay ,bright and
cheerful, but t..."his is a restaurant that's all about the fabulous food . We had the 3 course for 17 euro lunch, and some bio Bergerac wine, so very good value. Reservation advised as it gets booked very quickly with regulars.

"This restaurant was a pleasant surprise as I have passing it for years and never
realized that it existed.
The La Taula is on a small street on the side of the Cathedral next to a Chinese restaurant. From the outside it is just another storefront but inside it is very neat and clean.
The menu ..."is regional with fois gras and confit included. Also seafood when in season.
Having lived in Perigueux in the summer for many years and always walking past
La Taula, I will make sure to return.
As with all good full service restaurants of this caliber in France you will to expect to pay at least $40.00 including wine, it was worth it.
