We were lucky to have a table at the far end of the bar area but would understand noise issues if someone wanted a quiet meal! Overall would definitely go again.   "I visited this pub for the first time last week, with a group of 20 other walkers. We had warned them in advance and they reserved us an area, and were very welcoming. The pub building itself is thatched and very olde worlde, and I'm pleased to say has not be knocked into one large area, like so ..."many other old pubs have. It still retains it character. The lunch we had was excellent and a good choice of menu, and also a daily specials board. It also does baguettes and sandwiches and jacket potatoes if you don't want a main meal. Prices are reasonable. Despite its village location It is a very popular pub, and there were several other couples eating both inside and out when we were there, and this was a weekday lunchtime.
