"We were staying over night before leaving on an Alaskan Cruise, looking for a place to eat after our long air flight from east coast. We walked 2 blocks from our hotel and peaked in the door of a building that looked like a bar! Inside it was filled with people, warm inviting atmosphere and a wonde..."rfully friendly wait staff. We had the mushroom appetizer! Delicious!!!! Beef tenderloin and scallops and prawns. All was great. "Nancy" our waitress was also a part owner and instantly we loved her. If your ever in area, you must try!

"We were in for the first seating of Mother`s Day Brunch. All of the adults tried different versions of the Eggs Benedict. Each one came out with soft yolks as requested. The dungeness crab was fantastic (and clearly not canned as a previous reviewer said) and full of flavour. The accompanying salads..." were lightly dressed, fresh, and a nice counter point to the Benny. Our kidsmeals came out fast and before the parents as we asked, which help keep them from running around. We really appreciated that. It was our server`s first day and she was very pleasant. There was a little hiccup trying to figure out the credit card machine and even though you could see she was nervous about it, she handled it well and quickly.

"We have been coming to this restaurant for over 32 years. The schnitzel is consistently good, crispy on the outside and tender inside. There are lots of variations. I love the Jager Schnitzel with mushrrom sauce. They come with fried potatoes, browned just right, and German-style red cabbage. You ca..."n substitute spaetzle (little German dumplings or noodles) for the potatoes if you like. The schnitzels are huge but you can order the luncheon size if you have a smaller appetite. There is always a special and the soups are excellent. I had to laugh at the reviewer who said the service is abrupt but fun....that about sums it up!!! The decor is a bit kitschy, the restaurant used to be in a much older building with plank floors that burned down years ago. The food here is not gourmet, it's just good German comfort food. It's frequently full so I would make reservations if you can.
