"Easily the best ice cream I've ever had. They make their own ice cream/gelato and there's a viewing area where you can watch. For adults there is also a full bar. It's also nice to walk into an air conditioned building after being tag teamed by the hot sun and humidity!
A fairly sized carousel is l..."ocated in the back of the building but the customers solely seemed focused on the cold desserts. FYI if you would like to ride the carousel then you have to purchase tickets at the ice cream counter then one of the ladies working will accompany you to the carousel to operate it. My 2 and 3 year old boys were not a fans so we didn't bother on our 2nd and 3rd visit during our stay.

"Considering the unbeatable location, it is hard to believe that people would complain about prices that, frankly, are well below(!) what you would pay elsewhere. We ate a few lunches there, ranging from burgers to BBQ combo, and had a very pleasing breakfast on our last full day @ St Maarten. We wer..."e generally underwhelmed in SXM by most restos, but found this place to be more than adequate for lunch. PS: We would recommend that they be a bit more upfront to patrons re the 15% service added to the Monday buffet -- this is not mentioned externally and is only noticed in very small print on a blackboard once the buffet begins. The $ amount was not an issue; it is more of a perception matter.
Also, our thanks to Carol for always being so fun and friendly! Try a mango or peach mojito -- great stuff!

"Had an extra hour or so before we had to head to the airport and our taxi driver tipped us off that the largest airplane (the KLM from Amsterdam) would be landing soon, so we headed to the Sunset Beach bar. The bar has a surfboard with the flight schedule for the day on it, so you can know exactly w..."hen to expect the planes to land. There is also access to Maho beach, so you can stand directly next to or under the planes as they land (not recommended), if you wanted.
We watched the planes from the safety of the outside deck/restaurant area and had a blast. It was probably the highlight of my trip!
It was mid-morning and they were still serving breakfast, which we had already eaten, so we didn't have any food. The people around us did seem to be enjoying the food though. We ordered some drinks which came quickly (it's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?) and they were pretty good.
