  "We went to Armathwaite Hall for our daughters birthday and had a wonderful afternoon tea experience, we sat in the conservatory which is so much better than in the lounge, with fantastic views of Lake Bassenthwaite.   "All I can say is I have no idea why this lovely pub has any bad reviews. We stayed in Bassenthwaite for a week and frequented The Sun Inn on several ocassions with family and friends. We found the Landlord very friendly and very hospitable especially as we took our 18 month old granddaughter and not..." only did he provide a booster seat, fish fingers, mash and beans but also paper and a pencil. The food is excellent pub food with a very good choice and the staff were very cheerful and helpful. The men enjoyed the cock a hoop beer. Do not listen to any negative reviews about this super little pub. Go along and see for yourself. We will definitely be going back. " More >
