Recommended by a member of my staff, we have a food pub, to try out the King's Arms. It was early on a Monday lunch, they were not busy. Both ordered warm salads including chicken. Took quite a while for it to arrive and no wonder. The small chicken fillets had been grilled beyond an inch of their lives to... More

booked here for a treat for my wife saturday 20th april, chose to eat the cottage pie as the menu said it was thier signature dish, this was a big mistake, what arrived was a bowl of sqiggly mash on top of a load of fatty grisley meat and a couple of burnt vegtables, expensive meal you would only feed... We regularly take coffee ( £1 a cup americano all day !) in The Kings Arms in Berlhamsted. A beautiful old coaching Inn. Beautiful log fire, buzzing atmosphere ( usual parking problem with the Yummies and their coach-built buggies !) table completely filled with dirty crockery tissues etc. Requested clearing table to waiter, he did just that , removed all... Had a lovely meal at the Kings Head last night, however was offered the fairly limited fixed price menu at £20 for two courses or £25 for three. We were also given the regular menu only to find out that if we had the pasta dish and a pudding it would have come to £12.45! These same dishes would have... More

Living in berko we have known about this place for a while. We have had drinks there many times which has been hit and miss ( too many young drinkers!) but for a late lunch we popped in today. It was late lunch and had a nice table in the conservatory My initial observations were good BUT then looked down... More

The place looked lovely so we booked a table. It was very very noisy and seemed chaotic. It was a struggle to hear one another across our table. The service was painfully, painfully slow. Almost an hour to get starters ordered. The mains arrived. There were 5 of us there. Only 1 thought his meal was worth the price tag.... More

Undoubtably used to be our favourite place to eat / drink in Berkhamsted both with the family or on a night out. Last few times food / drink has been great as usual but at the weekends it has been attracting a very young crowd. We were in at the weekend just gone after dining elsewhere down the road and... Hi there, thank you for your feedback, we appreciate your honest comments. We would like to reassure you that under no circumstances do we allow under age people to drink alcohol in our establishment, however, we are aware that there is a tendency towards a 'younger' crowd in the bar during Friday and Saturday evenings, and we are addressing this... Fast becoming a drinking den for a rowdy crowd of badly dressed people Bouncers on the door indicate quality of clientele Glasses uncollected, even in the toilets ! Horrendous Shame, I guess as long as they are making money on the overpriced drinks nothing will change.

If you're planning a relaxed meal with a good atmosphere, the King's Arms is best avoided on a Saturday night, as diners take 2nd place to rowdy drinkers paying a fraction of the cost........... After an enjoyable meal some time ago, we returned on a Saturday evening for a friend's Birthday. With a busy bar area and half full dining... More

We've eaten here on a couple of occasions but never posted a review, which I'm about to correct now! Three of us visited for a snowy Sunday lunch and we arrived to the log fire and a friendly welcome. Our table was ready and two had meals from the menu - Crab Spaghetti, Lamb Shoulder and one had the roast... More
