Two of us came to La Paillotte in the early evening whilst waiting for the ferry to Portsmouth. This small restaurant was worth the drive along the coast from the ferry terminal at Ouistreham. We had smoked salmon pasta (loads of salmon, lovely light sauce) and the special - Boeuf bourginon - which was superb.

Deserts are really good, the rest is nothing to write home about. (Stay away from the fish soup) Tipical French service. Don't expect your table to eat in the same time. First improvement ? Add soap in the bathroom.

A fun, casual place near the end of the beach, with servers undismayed by our group of nine for dinner. Delicious, hearty gallettes (a kind of savory crepe) with a good selection of fillings including vegetarian options. Reasonable prices.
