Before Bodegon Pepe moved to its new location, this was a place to go for simple spanish food, in lovely surrounding with not knifes and forks(you had to use your fingers) They mainly served sardines, mussels and other finger food and it was super fun. As a family we ordered sardines and mussels which are just what they say, gorgeous fresh sardines, fried to order with garlic and served with bread and olive oil - and the mussels are a mountain of mussels to be devoured with the fingers. Been to Pepe's whenever i'm in Altea and it never varies in quality or friendly service....

I live in spain and generally eat in the more reasonable restaurants.As a special treat i visited Pepe which has a fab position on the front in Altea.
