The set menus are generally good value, though the fromage serving was a little small I thought. Great, friendly service. We ate there twice during our stay in Cluny.
Once again we have visited the Hotel Bourgogne for a lovely meal. It is on the very short list of restuarants we like to visit during our regular visits to the region. As always the ambience is a very lovely mixure of a formal style dining room combined with a very pleasant and informal staff. The food was of course... More
We started dining here in 2004 and it was excellent - however, the quality of the food has declined over the last few years. They have everything going for them except in the food. It is such a beautiful old restaurant in the perfect location, too bad they do not invest in a real chef.
: Lots of tasty choices with reasonable prices. This dining room is beautiful. It was a Sunday night, and many tables were taken. The food was good, and the service gracious. We spoke some ‘grammar school” French and the staff helped us, speaking both English and French to us. The service was polite and competent, without being overly formal. .
Good well balanced menu in restaurant and reasonably priced. Rooms pleasant and very clean. Benefit is that you are almost in the centre of the ancient Abbey with protected parking and all the sights within walking distance.
I live nearby during the summer and always look forward to at least one meal here, generally more. Value for money is good, the dining room decorr traditional in the nicest way (although the grim curtains need to be replaced and have for many years), the owners attentive, and the staff generally very helpful. Traditional dishes are favoured and pulled... More
Every time we visit the region we eat at least once at the Hotel Bourgogne. It is always excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant. The food is delicious and the service very friendly. The location in the main square in Cluny is also good. when you emerge it is nice to take a short walk around the town centre before getting... More
Don't need to be hotel guests to eat here but hotel is also excellent.(note restaurant not always open Tuesday/Wednesday so check when reserving). Staff so attentive, cooking beautiful and whole ambiance relaxed, tasteful and special. Thoroughly recommend.
On a cool, rainy Friday in April my wife and I visited the old Abbey at Cluny -- now much more accessible to tourists than in the past -- and literally in the shadow of the Abbey found the Hotel de Bourgogne. The hotel itself seems a charming place, with a pleasant courtyard (not open on the day we visited,... More
We stayed one night at the hotel and had dinner at the restaurant (next to the abbey (ruins)). The filet de boeuf was tender and succulent, served with fresh spinach, roquette and mashed potato. Service very friendly and accomodating - I asked for a simple salad as a starter and was assured it was no problem even though not on... More
