AMAZING EXPERIENCE! From the moment we were greeted at the door to the last bite of dessert! I had the lobster and scallop pie! Wow! Put this on your list of best places to eat in Newport!

I am really shocked by all the good reviews (which are why we tried this place in the first place). I should have been tipped off by the fact that last minute reservations here were wide open while every other place we tried in Newport was booked solid. The dining room is very dated, which is a shame because it... More

The meal was good, but I was a little disappointed after hearing so many rave reviews about this place. A couple of items on the Prix Fixe menu for Restaurant week weren't available. The red pear salad was delicious, but the beef in the Beef Wellington was a little tough. We had reservations but were stuck in a corner of... More

We went to the Canfield House during Newport Restaurant Week. We arrived for an 8:15 reservation only to wait half an hour before we were seated. We were given a small table in the corner, which was cozy. The room is very nice with beautifully carved wood panels. It was very crowded with a lot of loud conversation from the... More

Trish M We highly recommend The Canfield House. We have been going there for several years and loved it so much that in 2006 we had our wedding ceremony and reception there. The atmosphere is elegant, warm and inviting with beautiful woodwork and a great outside deck. The food is ALWAYS outstanding, great wine list, full bar options with knowledgeable... More

We enjoyed our "joint" birthday dinner here last week. The location is quite near the intersection of Bellevue Ave and Memorial Blvd. Just set in off Memorial Blvd, the B&B/restaurant has its own free parking which is a bit of a treat in Newport. There is a very nice separate bar area which is a comfy spot to enjoy cocktails.... More

More of an upscale casual place out of the cener of town. There's a pub downstairs to wind down in after a higher end meal upstairs. Great menus choises with excellent waitstaff. Very helpful and attentive. Try it out.

I took my girlfriend there for a Valentine's Day dinner and couldn't be happier with the dinner and atmosphere. The food and wine menus had great selections. The food was awesome and plenty of it. The hostess gave us a very friendly greeting and farewell. Our waitress was somewhat short on words but did a good job. The Canfield House... More

I had the seafood stew and it was one of the best seafood dishes I have had in Newport. The dish was full of scallops, large shrimp, mussells and fresh fish.
