Food was good. Restaurant a bit warm! Very crowded on a Saturday night so make reservations. A bit loud.
We ate at The Mooring at the recommendation of our innkeeper and had a great experience. It's a great place to go for seafood. We had the oysters - they were extremely fresh and delicious. We didn't have reservations but were seated pretty much immediately - even though it was definitely busy. They had a special seasonal menu on Monday... More
My friend Karen came to visit me for New Year's Eve and when she woke up she craved oysters and I knew that there was only one place to take her to and that was the Mooring. We made a reservation for noon and went. We were greeted by the most friendly server I have ever encountered and I have... More
I enjoyed my dinner, had what they called "A Bag of Doughnuts" which were actually a seafood fritter. Bad for me, tasted good. My husband had steak tips over linguini, beef good, pasta little bland. Prices on the high side, but your in the high rent district. You are right on the water. I would say although I enjoyed it... More
This place is honestly amazing. I remember in vivid detail how much I loved my meal. Get a table outside on the deck- it has a gorgeous view of the harbor. We went at sunset and it was just beautiful. You MUST order the bag of doughnuts appetizer!! Trust me....
Eight of us went for lunch at The Mooring. We had a wonderful lunch of scallop chowder, great grilled fish sandwiches, and fantastic salads. Everyone raved about the food and the setting. You should try it!

When my husband ordered a second beer, I started worrying as his family is ALWAYS on time - I went to look around the restaurant, and there they... More

We sat in the enclosed rear seating area right alongside the water & marina and it was a great atmosphere. Not quiet, not quaint, and not really romantic, but a nice area for dining. Service was great, oysters fresh, and fish... More
We were looking for a great fish restaurant and was recommended The Mooring. The food was ordinary and overpriced. We were in Newport just overnight and had expected to find great seafood everywhere. We were told they had just changed chefs. No excuse.
