Always a wonderful experience here at Big Mamou's in Springfield. Everything we have ever ordered is absolutely delicious, large portions, friendly service and a lively atmosphere. Love that you can bring in your own alcohol! One of our favorite places to eat in this area.

The food is excellent!! Yes, you'll have to more than likely wait in line to be seated, as the place is very small with limited seating, but the food is well worth the wait!! I also enjoy the byob aspect.

The area around the Amtrak station and bus station in Springfield Mass is pretty bleak and unpromising. But a block away is a restaurant with excellent Cajun food and an energetic environment. People kept flowing in, always a good indicator. My bowl of jambalaya was unforgettably good, tasty and well seasoned. The service was friendly and even the iced tea... More

If you like Cajun food this is the ONLY place around and it just happens to be excellent! ( B.Y.O.B. ) Red beans and rice, jambalaya etc. Mississippi moon chicken is excellent.

I have been a great fan of this restaurant since it opened more than a decade ago, but a recent lunch visit was somewhat disappointing. Service was borderline unfriendly and peremptory at best, and our dishes didn't taste quite right in comparison to previous visits there and in reference to the only other area restaurant highlighting a few Cajun dishes,... I had a good meal here but my wife's meal was horrible. The wait staff although adequate could be friendlier and a little more helpful. I had the jambalaya and it was quite reminiscent of good New Orleans cooking. My wife had some pasta dish and it was horrible and reminiscent of eating from a dumpster. The value was good... More

Monday night and it was packed. It's a small place though so come early. Food is terrific though service could be friendlier. Extremely cheap! One waitress is not enough to cover the entire place! There is really no ambiance and location a bit shady so park close, eat and go.

We went to Chef Wayne's tonight and were less than impressed. It's too small. Our table was super rickety. The corn bread was delicious. Everything else less so. I ordered the Avery Island Pasta, which claims to be spicy, but it seriously tasted like dish water smells. It had no flavor, and definitely wasn't spicy. My husband had the jambalaya... More

Small/cozy dining area and you can bring your own favorite adult beverage. The food is creole yumminess and I have many favorites that if I should just cut and paste the menu. Fried oysters, amazing cajun burger, jambalaya and a New Orleans pound cake are just a few of my favorites. Dress is casual... no need to dress up for... More

Well some of the other reviews are a bit to high and the low ones are really toooooooo low. This place is as expected an of the beaten path place to go eat at good prices. Nothing exceptional just well made food that was fresh. Had the jambalaya, nice shrimp (needed to be deveined) rice done right, sausage was cut... More
