OK, so I live in San Francisco, I'm used to paying more for fine dining. But this is San Antonio at San Francisco prices. So, my $10 salad was small, and overly salted. My rabbit was also overly salted, but it was a very big portion of rabbit. My husband says his monkfish was amazing and the best he's every... More

It is on the Riverwalk and a nice break from the typical Tex-Mex fare and Bar-b-Que joints. I ordered the trout and it was tasty and a generous portion. My dining companions ordered the beef tenderloins and were very happy. Service was prompt, friendly and very accommodating.

Il Sogno is at the newer, less crowded end of the Riverwalk in the Pearl Brewery Building. Parking across the street. Nice, contemporary style. Very good selection of Italian food. Excellent service. We were nine.

One of Andrew Wiesman's new creations, located in the Pearl Complex next to the San Antonio River, provides excellent service with food to match. My wife Joan and I had lunch there to celebrate our anniversary on March 22d. Our server, Stephanie was wonderful, attentive and had answers to all our questions. Not a slip up occurred during a very... More

I'm a value guy. I have no problem shelling out dough for great value. This place is a hoax. Food - Most likely a chef created the menu but there are burger flippers in kitchen preparing it - EXTREMELY small portions. My fiancé ordered a pasta and (no lie) 5 small stuffed pasta nuggets came in a bowl. She has... More

I dined at Il Sogno on a recent Sunday evening. The highlights are that the room is very nicely designed, and is part of an imaginative redevelopment of the old Pearl Brewery, north of downtown. The food is pretty solid. The salads were very large (definitely split them) and were good. The entrees we had were also pretty good, but... More

I don't think I've ever given a total 5 to any restaurant but Il Sogno was just so outstanding. We went for Sunday lunch based on rave reviews from our colleagues who dined there the previous evening. From the appetizers to dessert, everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. We started with a calamari and shrimp appetizer (not fried) that was... More

Has anyone out there ever return a poorly prepared dish and then the waiter brought it back from the kitchen to the table pleading with you to accept it? This would not happen at a chain restaurant, but it happens under Andrew Weissman''s nose at IL SOGNO OSTERIA. I wrote him about it with no response. While visiting S/A for... More

The owner/chef has a touted reputation starting, at least for me, at Le Reve which was my favorite local restaurant. Until recently, we had not gone to his highly publicized Il Sogno because they didn’t take reservations and we simply don’t stand in line waiting at a restaurant no matter how good it might be. Now that they taking reservations... More

OMG, I just thought we were going for a little Italian so I dressed in my casuals. I should have done business casual. The atmosphere in this place was amazing. I love the open kitchen, the bread and cheese bar and the wall of wine. Our server's name was "Joe." He provided us with a host of information, including specials,... More
