Now I have to admit, I am not German or from Germany, however my husband's grandparents immigrated here from Germany and Siegfried's was their favorite place to get German food. Since my husband is half German, we go here frequently. The food is delicious and our favorite dessert is their Marzipan Cake. It is fantastic. The service is friendly and... More

Real German deli with imported cold cuts, cheese, fish, herring salads, etc. They serve hot plates and sandwiches and soups, too. It's like a cafeteria line and you carry your own tray. But they give you real plates and actual silverware & knives. They also have a ton of imported German groceries and they also have German beer. I haven't... More

What everyone says is true - the food is authentic and delicious. The Nuernberg Bratwursts are just like the best you can get in Nuernberg; and I think Nuernberg Bratwurst are the best in Germany. Portions are generous and we love being able to order takeout. The only complaint I have is that some days certain dishes are better than... More

The German food is great, very authentic and the portions are ample. I LOVE that they sell loaves of delicious Bauernbrot (black bread). I don't live in SLC any more, and can't find good black bread at home. When I visit SLC I buy some (a lot) to take home and ration out of the freezer. If you enjoy German... More

I grew up in Germany and find the food at Siegfried's very authentic. We love it so much that during a few hour layover in Salt Lake City, we hopped on bus #550, and went downtown to have lunch there. It's a deli/store/lunch counter combo. Siegfried's is very generous with their portions, and have a great selection of sides including... More

Fantastic German food! Brats, sauerkraut, reubans, great sandwiches, and a huge deli with all the cheeses and meats you want to take home. Also, the chocolate eclair and apple strudel were both delightful. Best eclair I have had! I highly recommend Siegfrieds. But beware, lunch time lines go out the door! Very popular for good reason,

Enjoyed everything from the cabbage rolls, to the sauerkraut, the potatoes, the borsche and the bread. Half the cafe/restaurant is also a deli and store where you can buy all sorts of delicacies from Germany and other European countries. Not a place to sit and linger too much as the decor is very plain. Come for the food before you... More

I knew I was in the right place as soon as I walked in the door. Reminded me of so many places in L.A. that have gone by the wayside. Authentic food, simple decor and german gifts to buy, what could be more fun. Enjoyed the sandwich, spaetzle and everything about this place. No nonsense just a good place that... More

I wanted to like Siegfried's I really did, but maybe I just don't like German food as much as I thought. The deli looked really appetising but the meal selection seemed generic and not much care was given to service. As I said maybe we caught them on a bad day but both my wife and I were not overly...
