We ate at this place, the food was really good, it cost a little bit more than I had expected, but it was in tourist area I suppose. Nevertheless, the experience is a mom and pop place. You must try the chicken fried steak :D

We went here for breakfast and found everything good but overall just average. Average food, average value, average service. Waitress was very friendly. All in all a very average place for breakfast.
As I seen from another review you were in Keystone the 1st week of October 2012. There was a posting before yours on my tripadvisor site asking people to speak up and let a server, manager or owner know if something is not up to par. Also I mention to post comments right after you visit so us as owners...

We had breakfast here ONCE!! We go to the HILLD several times a year and willl NEVER go back here again!! Food is greasy and tasteless!! Was the worst breakfast we have ever had!! The price is way more then it should be for this crappy food.
I feel I had to respond to this review with the email between Marlene and myself. She came in very early in my season and posted very late in my season. By the time I got the post I could not correct the problem that she had at the time. I would ask of all people who buy anything if...

We ate here early one evening before going to the Mount Rushmore evening ceremony. We both had burgers and fries. These were perfectly good, reasonable portion size, quite tasty and good value. Service was pleasant & attentive.
Probably the best breakfast we had on our trip to the Keystone area. Very friendly, clean and the food was outstanding.
We had lunch there September 5, 2012. I ate a BBQ rib burger with homemade fries. My wife had the chicken-ham-egg salad. The portions were large and everything was tasty and fresh. And the price reasonable. The waitress was friendly and talkative. We’d go back there if we’re ever in the area again.
The service was quick and very friendly. The sausage gravy is a must - the best we have ever had. Highly recommend breakfast here.
We went there for lunch one afternoon last week. The waitress was great, and the food was excellent. There were four of us and we each had something different (I had a buffalo burger). Everyone enjoyed their food which was very fresh and tasted wonderful.
We visited Peggy's a year ago for breakfast and enjoyed that experience also. We'll be...

Lucky to have found Peggy's place. The care and wealth of information about the area make this a place worth stopping for. I am happy we got to meet Peggy and eat in her resturant. The buffalo was excellent. Home cooking was good a real American style resturant and a feel good atomosphere. Make sure you have your Buffalo cooked...

We stopped in here for breakfast hoping to get a tasty home cooked meal. When we walked in, there was maybe a handful of people in the place and the waitress told us, "it's going to be awhile" which is never a good sign, and she was right. I always think, "it's just bacon and eggs, how can you mess...

I'm sorry for your experience. To address your major complaint we do not fry our hashbrowns in grease we use a little bit of butter. There is nothing we use grease for except for our fryers and we change our grease in these every 3 days or more if needed. I know how my kitchen runs as I have the...
