Off the beaten path, but great recommendation from a friend. Get the small sandwich--it's huge! One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. No problem with parking or lines if you go off-hours.

Ok, this place does sandwiches like you wouldn't believe! The portions are HUGE - worth splitting or taking half home for dinner. The great thing about Black Sheep is that they are creative with their menu -- for example -- I ordered the Ms P which was bacon, avocado, pimento cheese, grilled red onions and tomatoes on texas toast. Everyone we met in Richmond told us that this was the place to go, so on our way out of Richmond, we decided to stop there for brunch. if our GPS hadn't told us we'd arrived, we would have missed it, but we are sure glad we didn't. The place has about 8 tables and about a zillion food choices....

This time I tried the Battleship Wabash, which is there take on a steak and cheese (with marinated strips of steak and feta cheese). It was outstanding and was devoured promptly. Previously I had the Sultana (like a gyro with beef and lamb) and it was...

What a wonderful find! Tucked away on Marshall street! Food was fabulous and portions were huge. Our waitress Rachelle was terrific! A definite 5 star.
Walking around the area around VCU smelled it before we saw it and our noses were right! We will eat here the next time we are in Richmond.
While visiting VCU, asked a few individuals about places for lunch and this establishment was mentioned by all but one. We now know why. Fantastic sandwiches and salads!
We routinely visit family in Richmond and love the eclectic, non-chain restaurants across the city. Like most places is Richmond, this restaurant has limited seating... but this one is definitely worth the wait! Truly one of the best places to eat in town. Hard to write this review because I would like to keep this one all to myself! It...
