Being a vegetarian at a Portuguese restaurant wasn't a pleasant experience. I was forced to choose from a variety of under seasoned and poorly prepared sides. I even ordered the "risotto" which was little more then a pile of dry rice with a few leaves in it. However, the servers were very attentive and the sangria was quite good.
My family and I are 100% Portuguese and we felt that Atasca was just average. The decor is very nice, not too chic and not too casual. A great sign of a good restaurant - the Calamari and Octopus were cooked to perfection - melt-in-mouth. This my first Portuguese experience and I'm happy to say I'm a new convert. On a cold winters night, the rib-sticking rice dishes were perfect.
What I had was good but very similar flavors, all garlic-tomato-pepper-onion based seafood. I'd like to go back one day to try more menu items.
