I don't know much about middle eastern food, but the Falafel and Schwarma tasted very good to us. The portions were very generous and lady preparing the food was very friendly.
I told this to the owner and he told me I was wrong. He said that he'd been back to Israel recently and was convinced that Felafel King in Anchorage was better. I don't know. Maybe it's the Alaskan water, but this was up there among the best I've had anywhere. Our felafel was made to order, so you can't... More
The food is great. Very fresh made when you order. Falafel are a bit cruchy for My taste but the schnitzel and schwarma are better than any I have had in the middle eastern countries.. Wish they had more room for seating. There is a small deck but it is often chilly even on sunny days in Alaska.
Walked from The Voyager Hotel 1.3 miles to the Falafel King- based on the reviews on Tripadvisor- and so glad we did! The owner was so gracious. Memorable experience-great food. His Mom cooks Fridays and Sundays- with specials served- you can call up and ask what they will be...maybe stuffed eggplant, meatballs, stuffed cabbage....ooH it looked good! Enjoy-
I had the grilled chicken with falafel. The pita was delicious and the falefel was the perfect side dish. Great value for the meal, don't let the small building fool you, this place is the diamond in the rough ( gambell corridor). Shalom
I eat there at least once a week. Big portions, friendly owners, fresh and healthy. Oh did I mention great prices for big portions of authentic middle eastern fare. Limited menu but occasional fantastic specials.
food is fantastic. very authentic, family owned/operated with a friendly atmosphere. not a sit down type of restaurant, but at the lunch hour there is usually a line out the door for swarma and falafel. large portions- great value
After seeing reviews on Trip Advisor I went looking. I was at first wary as the building is very small and unimpressive from the outside. Upon entering the building, I found a very clean and hospitable setting. I was greeting by the friendly family that owns the restaurant and given samples of the meet with Tahini and hot sauce. The... This is the closest falafel to what you get in Israel that I have found in America. How lucky we are to have it in Anchorage Alaska! And what a lovely family who runs it. You will get large portions served with a smile. The only downside is there really isn't great seating options there. I suggest getting it to... More
