Surprised by some of the reviews. We have lived in Santa Fe and visited many times -- quite familiar with the cuisine and we loved our meal. Simple cooking with good use of hot peppers and other spices. We found the use of french bread with the mussels and the eggplant encantado odd -- should be tortillas, but the Huevos... More

I had enjoyed this place some years ago, and remembered the food as being really tasty, way above average. It's been at least 10 years, and I guess things change.... The atmosphere is nice enough, casual, though it seemed really slow for a Saturday evening. We started with some guacamole, hot (spicy) salsa and chips. The guacamole was ok, not... More

First off, I should mention that I was born and raised in Santa Fe – so I’m one of those extremely opinionated reviewers that had a visceral reaction to this café. Anyone not raised in the Southwest should look forward to a better experience simply due that your expectations might not be as high. I was pretty surprised that the... More

I had been wanting to revisit the Santa Fe Cafe for years, and for some reason - mostly the fact that I travel a lot and therefore don't go out that much when I'm on my home patch - I hadn't been there in at least 15-20 years. Back in the 80s the original Santa Fe Cafe was always one... More

Took the family and had a great time. Everyone enjoyed their food. There was lots of it and it was very good.

We recently took our Groupon and headed out with friends to explore this little restaurant. Charming little place with lovely art on the walls but the best thing was the food. We had a variety of dishes - chili tart, enchiladas, spicy burrito - all were great. Our server was not an expert on the food of New Mexico but... More

Although Santa Fe Cafe doesn't look like much from the street, it's quite nice inside. Nice colors and interesting art. The food is inspired by New Mexico, but I wouldn't describe it as New Mexican. But, having said that, it was good enough that we'll go back and try something other than the green chile burrito, cheese enchilada, and shredded... More

On my first visit I had the artichoke ramekin appetizer, the chicken enchilada, and the bread pudding dessert. The next time I branched out to the eggplant encantado appetizer but couldn't stay away from either the chicken enchilada or the bread pudding. I now dream of the chicken enchilada and find myself driving, once again, from Vancouver, B.C. to this... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants! The carne adovada is to die for, so much flavor with just the right amount of spicy. I also love the taco plate, and both their red and green sauces are delicious. The garlic custard is my favorite appetizer (except for when the avocado salsa is in season!). They also have wonderful drinks... More

Finally tried it. The food is on New Mexican cuisine, with an emphasis on chiles. The food was OK and a bit overpriced. I'm certain my tastes lie south of the border. It left me wanting Mexican food.
