Love the extra large gulasch soup. Owner makes her speciality sweet or savoury doughnuts. People kept coming for hours to eat them.
At the top of Hohe Salve at 1815m this must be one of if not the highest restaurant in the area with fantastic views over the Wilder Kaiser mountains and also the glacial areas of the Grössglockner , Kitzsteinhorn, and Grossvenediger. As well as the inside eating areas there is a large outside area with a revolving area of tables.... More
Only stopped for a drink, the location and views are amazing on a clear day. Toilets are lovely and clean but few female cubicles have windows that you can see out of but no one sees in, quite surreal in fact. The rotating terrace is quite novel, moves very slowly so you get to enjoy the panoramic view.
It's all about the view. First time we sat in the carousel terrace drinking white wine (9.50e/half bottle) and eating cake. Second time, same place but this time we ate a light lunch of frittatensuppen (clear soup with sliced crepes).... More
Stunning views - almost breathtaking. Lovely restaurant and staff. The trip up in the gondola was worth every penny. Once up there, there are plenty of walks down or take a trip down the opposite side to Hopfgarten. A great day out.
this place is good to eat in also but can be a bit more expensive that other places but then again most of the higher up rest tend to be costly due to having the added cost of transport of goods by smow mobiles! lively place at lunchtime
If you are in the Hopfgarten area you must take the gondola up to the top of Hohe Salve and enjoy the fresh air and the wonderful views around the valleys and mountains of Austria. There is a church and another lift down to Soll. The restaurant (how did they get it all up there?) is a self-service offer which... More
We went up Hohe Salve by cable car on a day when it had snowed overnight. The cable car ride is in two parts and you have to change from one to the other halfway up. When we reached the top there was approximately 6-8" of snow so we headed to the cafe for a hot drink and, unfortunately, didn't... More
