We were in NOLA for our anniversary and wanted to eat close to where we were staying. Stumbled up Lil Dizzy's on the internet and took a shot. What a blessing! The best potato salad I have ever had in my life. The gumbo was as if I could taste the care it took to make it. The service was... More

Food was decent, service was terrible! I was discriminated against, thought in this day n age . . . guess i was wrong, don't go there if u r a white girl w a black boyfriend, all i asked for was some water n was yelled at for being white, this kind of place is a step back for all... More

Please check out this intimate soul food cafe. I had the grits and shrimp--fantastic. Many famous people have passed through in the last 50 years (as noted with great pics on the wall) including Presidents Obama and Bush. Next time, we're going for dinner.

What a pleasant surprise! Lil Dizzy is a neighborhood (Treme) eatery. It's small but the food is gigantic! I read the reviews about this place but had to see for myself. The food is fantastic. My friends and I (the NOLA Ladies) had the best time. Our waitress, Charlene, made us feel right at home. This place has a 50... More

Wonderful experience here. Lots of locals and good home cooking. Very tight seating and crowded, but worth it....We had the fried chicken and grits. So goooooood! Trust me, you have to go by here for food at least once while you are in New Orleans! Very authentic and delicious!

I have never enjoyed scrambled eggs more than last Sundays late breakfast at Dizzy's. With the place hoppin' and those eggs creamy, hot and comfy next to a hot biscuit, all the senses were relaxed. My wife had some sort of French Toast on Steroids. or so methinks. Crispy and crunchy French bread, bananas, syrup, powdered sugar, sitting aside a... More

As a native New Orleanian, I am so tired of the same places touted (on TV) as having the best New Orleans food. Many know the names of the "famous" places (for tourists), which are not necessarily the BEST places to eat. I do not make a trip home without stopping in for a bite at this gem and seeing... More

This place is great if your looking for a local place for NOLA home cooking. My wife and daughter had omelettes and I had the buffet. The red beans were great and the fried chicken very good. They had gumbo and jambalaya as well and I liked them both. If you're looking for fancy this is not the place. It's... More

I was looking forward to trying out Lil Dizzy's after seeing it featured on the Travel Channel and HBO's Treme. A friend and I were there the Sunday before Mardi Gras. Of course it was busy but we didn't have to wait no longer than 20 minutes for a table. That was a relief. However, the service was terrible. Our... More

I figured on two constants since my visit last year to Dizzy's: the fried chicken and the bread pudding would be good. This was indeed the case but everything else in the buffet was lacking. The gumbo was meh and anytime someone ordered gumbo as an entree, it came from the buffet . Their vegetables that day were just lacking... More
