I went in to get deesert for my boyfriend, son and I. The gals who work there are so very friendly and were really chatty and made me feel welcome while I waited for them to package up my desserts to take back to our hotel. I will definately go there for a meal sometime soon based on their customer... More

My son and I enjoyed wonderful meals and great service here. I had I had the double cut pork chop with balsamic, onion and bacon marmalade with blue cheese mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. My son had the pan roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and chard. All I can say is "heavenly". Everything was perfect, great portions and delicious. Even... More

After a cabin concert with Michael Monroe, three of us went to lunch at the Crooked Spoon because we recalled eating their several years ago and having good food. It was still there and still as good as ever. The salads were large in proportion and the vegetarian options excellent. The details of presentation made for lovely to look at... More

Had lunch there on March 23, 2013. That was the last day before their closing until early May. Husband had the special of the day which was a reuben. I had the french onion soup. We were really looking forward to the oven fries, but alas, prior to our getting there, someone had ordered their last order for takeout. Because... More

The food was excellent. Both our meals were well prepared and presented, large quantities and the quality of the food was excellent. The service was very good as well and the waitress knew the menu very well and could answer any questions. We would definitely recommend The Crooked Spoon to anyone wanting a really great meal in Grand Marais.

The restaurant is quaint, the atmosphere exudes local appeal. Service was personal, friendly, fast (relative), and helpful! We went at lunch and the menu wax perfect for the punt of choices, and the price was more than reasonable for the amount of food. The food itself is an experience you won't want to miss! If you have to wait in... More

We traveled for 6.5 hrs and did not have time to change prior to dinner. It did not matter if we were dressed up or down. It was my man's birthday and we had 2 of our adult children with us at the start of a skiing weekend. I had the roasted Alpaca (which I was a little leery of... More

The Crooked Spoon Cafe is not to be missed when visiting Grand Marais, MN. The food is excellent and they serve everything from hamburger to tofu, which pleases everyone. They have special meals on holidays and for special events. Friendly, nice, cozy, plain to fancy food in a small town.

I dined here a few years ago and thought it was reasonably tasty. Coupled with my previous experience and the reviews here, I tried it again and was disappointed. The restaurant was full for lunch, so perhaps the chef in the back had trouble keeping up. We ordered a squash latke as an appetizer and after 30 mins of waiting,... More
