We ate breakfast here on our first official day in Gettysburg. The staff is awesome and I swear to this day they were the absolute BEST waffles and bacon I have ever had. Ever!

While the Farnsworth House proper requires reservations, the Tavern does not. We ate outside in the beautiful garden. The waitress - in period garb, no less - initially brought over a bowl of pickled watermelon rind. My wife commented that it was better than her mother's (and I assure you that _nothing_ I've eaten bested her mother's cooking).

Decided to eat here on the Memorial Day weekend. The Tavern was half empty and was seated immediately from then on it was down hill. Poor service no follow through and mediocre food. Waiting over 40 minutes for our lunch of burgers and salads, no refills on the drinks (had to go find the waiter) and the order was wrong....

The atomsphere was relaxing and the decor was beautiful. The service was friendly and capable as well. The food, however, was a let down. The prices are on the expensive side, so we were expecting the food to reflect this. My husband's steak was over cooked and the fish I ordered was mushy. The side items weren't even good and...

We had a long, hot day hiking around the battlefield and this place was exactly what we were looking for when we went into town for dinner. Historic charm perfect for tourists like us, a huge patio, cheap drinks and really good, rustic food. We had the fire roasted chicken and the game pie and both were both so delicious,...

All the staff are dressed to the civil war era & the food also reflects the era. The food is very Americana, the only gripe I had is the wait for our food was somewhat long but the atmosphere made up for it
Had lunch here. Food was decent. I had a turkey sandwich that came with a pickle and potato chips. The roll was soft. My husband had a french dip sandwich with horseradish and fries. The prices were fair. The building itself is interesting to see, and there is memorabilia from the Gettysburg movie on the walls. Something who I presume...

looks and smells amazing, don't foget to do the tour, shot fired here killed only civilian to die during battle. Cozy, outdoor area too, period food and regular menu items all top notch.
My husband and I had dinner at Farnsworth House in October 2011 for our wedding anniversary. The atmosphere is quaint, the food and service were good. The dessert we shared was excellent! While waiting for our reservation time, we went next door to the ghost tour building and enjoyed the "Haunted Address" tour.
we were taken into the restaurant by relatives who live in gettysburg.
the history is evident - and we all enjoyed very good food.
we all started off with salads - which were fresh, crisp, and tasty. the blue cheese dressing was served on the side - and had big chunks of cheese in it.
two of the group had...
