Charles Plaza has some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Try the Moo Shu Chicken. The service is friendly and every thing is very fresh and tasty.
This is the best Chinese food in Philadelphia Chinatown. It is on the farthest edge, and not as flashy and touristy. The ingredients are fresh and the food is healthy. They do not serve beef or pork but do serve chicken and seafood and many vegetarian entrees. The owner, Charles is a sweetheart. I highly recommend this restaurant. Susanlia44
a friend invited us to join them at this restaurant and boy were we impressed. Charles, the owner is an absolute delight .the food was delicious..the interesting thing is that they dont serve any pork or beef products, chicken and sea food but not "fat" according to charles. We had a corn soup and a crab soup for appetizer, a chicken... Based on Trip Advisor reviews we walked through Chinatown to try Charles Plaza for dinner one night. The won ton soup was filled with vegetables and the broth was delicious. We enjoyed chicken with cashews and chicken with snow peas-plenty of food and it was all very good. Charles is a gracious host and we will return to enjoy his... More
This restaurant is well worth the couple of extra blocks' walk. The food is excellent--flavorful, not too salty or greasy as in lesser Chinese restaurants. We had a variety of fish, chicken and vegetarian dishes, and all were outstanding. Service was friendly. We've been there twice on trips to Philadelphia, and will certainly return.
This restaurant is located on the edge of Philadelphia's Chinatown. Ate with a large group of people who ordered a diverse group of Chinese dishes, none of which was especially good or bad. For example, the hot & sour soup was spicy hot, but not sour--it had little or no vinegar. The service was pleasant.
We had an excellent vegetarian meal here--soup and several delicious dishes. The hosts are very gracious and friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. Not for vegetarians only! You will enjoy your meal here.
This restaurant, on the outer perimeter of Chinatown, is worth the trip from anywhere in Philadelphia. The restaurant is scrupulously clean (including the bathrooms) and the service is attentive and professional. The owner, Charles, came to our table twice during our visit to inquire about our satisfaction. We were pleased to tell him that everything was delicious! The restaurant specializes... More
Charles Plaza is one of those rare establishments that are able to pull off the combination exceptional value for money, without compromising on the quality of the food. I was recommended to go there on a recent visit and on a very hot Sunday, set off on a mission through Chinatown to find it. The walk and obvious temptations from... More
My husband and I are vegetarians, and this is our "go-to" restaurant whenever we visit Philadelphia, most recently on July 8. It's on the outskirts of Chinatown. Just pass under the arch and walk for several blocks. It will be on your left. Don't let the others suck you in. This one is the best! We especially recommend the hot... More
