When I lived in Philly, Spasso was my favorite restaurant. After a recent return visit, I'm happy to say it still ranks way up there with its beautifully prepared fresh seafood. This time I had the mussels in white sauce. Yum! Then I seguéd to the escargot main. Service was great, as usual; the crowd is always lively, even on... More

After reading the reviews at TripAdvisor we decided that we should go to Spasso for dinner - but to be honest we are very disappointed. When we entered the restaurant we were welcomed by a very unpleasent smell (it smelled like pee). However, this was forgotten after a little while. We decided to start with an appetizer and these was... More

Our group of 26, speaking 5 languages, had an absolutely fablous meal and experience here. Sam was phenomenal. Price was a great value, and the flavors were wonderful. With that many cultures, pulling it all together demonstrates the soul of the place. I will be back.

For a recent visit to Philadelphia, we wanted high quality, "real" Italian food. We got that and more at Spasso. I'm Italian from Rhode Island. I wasn't disappointed! The homemade ravioli with veal ragu sauce was amazing. Grilled calamari was delicious. Brushetta, Italian wine-- what more do you need? The ragu sauce tasted like I was in my grandmother's kitchen... Spasso serves great Italian food, at a relaxed pace. The food tastes authentic Italian and not too spicy. Sitting outside on the sidewalk on a nice day is the way to go! - watching the dog walkers , jiggers and others headed toward the park.

Really nice cozy place. Like a trattoria. After hoofing around the Old City all day, the whole family will love this opportunity to kick back and dine on some comfort food.

It's a dim lit location with semi round booths and tables. I ordered the fish which they filet for you at the table. It's definitely a place for family because of the space and the staff was very hospitable.I wasn't much a fan of the homemade pasta- too doughy for me. But the seafood dishes were pretty good.

For date night I wanted to make up for a disappointing visit to another restaurant. I always like to scour Philadelphia mag's top restaurants or check online reviews. I knew we wanted authentic Italian, casual dining and reasonably priced. The restaurant has old World charm with booth or table dining. I did make reservations and was greeted by the hostess... More

Service was excellent The calamari was very good. Two people in our party had veal and swear by spasso's veal. Go during the week or on a Friday. Saturdays are too crazy and the food does not seem as good. Would return just for the calamari but everything else was delicious also

This was our second visit to Spassos. We had a great meal our first time there and were happy to find on our second visit that it was not a fluke. We were served warm bread and some diced roasted vegetables when we sat down. My wife had the Involtoni Di Manzo, rolled beef stuffed with cheese and spinach in... More
