When we stopped in for lunch it had been a long time since we visited Paradiso. A chill afternoon but the front windows were open to the street--just like in Italy. Our waitress was a charmer and quite attentive. The menu took me back to Italy. I ordered fazzoloni with duck confit and fois gras. Not a typical Italian offering... More

I recently dined at Paradiso with my best friend of almost 30 years. Both of us are South Philly natives and we were so pleased and excited to see how Passyunk Avenue has been reinvented and is the new "hot spot". Prior to our reservation at Paradiso, we walked about 10 blocks each way and found about a dozen other... More

This review is based on multiple trips. I take out of town guests just to watch them respond to the excellent food. In the warm weather the large windows at the front of the restaurant open to the street for a European feel. I have never felt rushed here, the staff seems to understand that good food and company needs... More

I never expected the restaurant to be open for lunch. However, i went today. The menu was priced very affordable and the food was delectable. The sandwiches were simply amazing. I can't believe I've waited this long to try it. Interestingly there was no one else dining in the restaurant, but don't let this fool you. It's superb. Can't wait... More

We just experienced paradise on Passyunk Avenue at Paradiso. So many dishes reminded us of meals experienced in Italy, but with unique twists. The crispy chicken livers with sweet onions in Vin Cotto (cooked wine) were reminiscent of Venice, but better. The contrast of crispy with velvet smoothness of the livers was extraordinary. My partner had the Fritto Misto, one... More

Coffee was Luke warm had to send back but was immediately corrected. Pinot Grigio was good. Appetizer good calamari smelts cod cakes breaded oysters but also room temperature. I had to send my first course back, penne with crab, crab was bad. Very accommodating servers but overwhelmed and not in sync with each other. Seafood risotto  ordered in place of... More

The restaurant's decor is elegant and warm, the menu provides a variety of delicious and creative Italian specialties and Continental choices, desserts are excellent. I've been here several times and have been consistently pleased with the food. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that it just misses on some points. For example, I asked not to have... I like to test a restaurant by their gnocchi. Tasted many since I am a San Francisco resident. This gnocchi won the prize as the best I have ever tasted. Amazing melt in your mouth gnocchi. And all other dishes we ordered among 6 of us were absolutely delicious. This restaurant is a gem in South Philly and I will... More

We came to this restaurant expecting the typical Italian restaurant you would find in South Philly. No way. Although the menu is not large, it surely gives you enough choices and most are unique. My husband is a very picky eater and does not like to try anything different so it was not a good choice for him, but our... More

Bravissimo! Outstanding in every way – beautifully presented food that is consistently fresh and tasty and suitable for foodies, served by attentive and knowledgable staff in a comfortable upscale décor. I’ve been pleased to dine here twice and eagerly anticipate the next time I’m in Philadephia so I can experience it again. It’s a true gem.
