I always loved that charming historic Water Works complex. We had visited the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center before, but never eaten at the restaurant. I finally got my chance during a bus trip to the Barnes Foundation, and I was a little apprehensive. Restaurants are often not at their best when you arrive in large numbers. Here it was... More

For a $34 New York Strip, it was not even close to being worth that. Mine was difficult to cut and fatty. It was a good thing I ordered it medium rare because it was closer to medium, which is not what I wanted. The only redeeming thing was the Spinach Salad was excellent. The service was slow and we... We had our mother's 90 birthday party/family reunion at Waterworks. The food and service were PERFECT! The price was reasonable and the view cannot be beat. The entire experience was impeccable!

My husband and I ate here last night (March 24), with a lovely view of the Schuykill River. The staff were very attentive and the server even directed me to a better choice of entrees. He also nicely took a couple of pictures for us with our camera. I found the actual hardcopy menu not helpful, at least for the... More

We enjoyed dinner here on 3/2/13, (we were referred there by local relatives). The setting was an amazingly elegant re-do of a historic building which was one of the first public water systems in America. Today it hastransformed into a top notch restaurant with delicious food - imaginative, but sufficiently familiar selections that you can later recall what you ate.... More

The view was beautiful! We sat outside, overlooking the Boathouse Row. The food was not great, but then again it was lunch and we just wanted a beautiful view after a relaxing trip to the art museum.

While in Philadelphia recently, we decided to try this popular restaurant along the river near the magnificent Philadelphia Museum of Art. While it was a cold and dismal evening outside, we recieved a warm and attentive reception upon arrival and were immediately seated in the beautiful room near the entrance to the bar. It would certainly be considered a romantic... More

Water Works is within walking distance of the Art Museum which is how we ended up there. The shrimp salad was really good and the roast beef sandwhich was good. But, the octopus was fabulous. We were there on a cold day, but I can imagine this would be wonderful sitting on the deck on a beautiful day in the... More

We were at Water Works on a Friday night trying to have dinner before a Play at the Academy of Music. We told our server that we were short on time. They took our order quickly - bringing our cocktails immediately. Salads then came out right away and the main course 20 minutes later. Usually in fine dining establishments like... More

The food, place, and service were outstanding. This review is about Andy, the manager. We dined on New Year’s Eve. Our party had an 8:30pm reservation, and we were not seated until 9:15pm. We were disappointed at that time, but the hostess offered us an apology and a champagne toast. While dining, we noticed that Andy stopped regularly at the... More
