While staying in Ventura, we stumbled upon this lovely restaurant because it was within walking distance of our hotel. The atmosphere felt very upscale, yet definitely not stuffy or snobby. It is a very welcoming place. The decor is very elegant. The service is great. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. There were 6 people in our dining party,... More

If you're feeling like a bit of pasta, this is Ventura's best spot! Their pastas are homemade and prepared in an al dente style, providing a delightful texture to accentuate flavorful sauces and accompaniment. I'm one of those who wants some protein with my meals. They have a light and delicious Lemon Chicken with capers that rocks your socks! Do... More

Great food, lovely upscale-casual atmosphere and gracious service. We shared a salame pizza to start and it was delicious, the crust was chewy and the sauce full of flavor and the cheese delightfully gooey and melted. I enjoyed the bolognese with the homemade pasta. All the dish needed was a touch of fresh parm. My husband had the carbonara. We... More

The main dining room is separated from the bar which made for a quiet, private feeling dinner. There were six of us and everyone was very satisfied with his/her meal. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce very good. The lasagna is particularly good.\The portions are huge. The service was just on the edge of intrusive, but they kept an... More

My husband and I rented a small cottage for a week on the beach. The owners recommended it in their information book. The first night we ordered pizza and a caesar sale delivered. Totally pleased with the order especially the side red pepper and parmesan cheese served in a small container. We then decided to try the restaurant one evening... More

I've been to Italy several times, and this place can beat some italian restaurants in Rome as well. Great Pizzas and solid Tiramisu. It needs more wine on the list but they have great cocktails. I've tried the Spasso Martini and I loved it, if you like Negroni that's what you want to order. Service was fantastic.

We had dinner at the Italian place across the street from Spasso on our first night in town. It was not good. So we decided to try Spasso the next night, and were very pleased. We shared the eggplant parmesan appetizer. It was a huge serving size and every bite was cheesy deliciousness. One friend had pork chops, which she... More

Spasso is a smallish place, clean and well lit, offering the usual array of Italian courses including pasta, seafood and other dishes. With a house red, I had the Costata de Maiale and my companion the Ravioli Bandiera, both of which we shared and agreed was very good. Tiramisu to top of the evening's meal. A pretty spot good for...
