Overall, the food is consistent as far as the green chicken enchiladas.. Their green and red salsas are sooo yummy. Make sure you get a jar to go.
Was there last monday evening. Really enjoyed atmosphere, diner and beers (so many types) Great Mexican food as from mother's home!!! Go there, be relax and enjoy
Nothing spectacular...just good average food, filling, moderately priced Tex-Mex! Good-sized portions that are sure to satisfy!
Food was blah at best. I cannot believe this place is rated so high. Huge disappointment. Place is run down and dirty. The bathrooms need cleaning and remodeling along with the whole place. Only thing positive was I discovered Negra Modelo beer. Ate dinner 23 NOV 2013.

We have tried this place on multiple occasions. It is consistently good. It is some of the best Mexican food I have sampled in the state of Texas. It is usually busy, so get there early.
First visit to El Paso. My wife said we HAD to go to L&J. She had eaten there previously and loved both the food and the atmosphere. I had the Machaka Plate and it was delicious. Their chili con queso was excellent, too. Definitely worth the visit!
A friend from El Paso recommended this place to us. We enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner there. We both had tacos and an extra order of guacamole. The place was packed even in mid-afternoon, but we only needed to wait about 10 minutes. Our server was terrific and made a couple of suggestions, which we heeded. The food was great.... More
Taken there by a returning customer and their sign said best Mexican Food 3 yrs in a row. Had nNegra Modelo beer and Chili Renallo which were recommended. Fast service, friendly staff, good beer and reasonable prices but the food was nothing to remark on. More like grub. Good place to come and drink with appies but not a place... More
we were in El Paso for just one afternoon and wanted an authentic mexican lunch that was close by. We were not disappointed. The service was good, the prices were fair and the food was fantastic. The shredded beef is done right.
