We have always made a trip to the Carnegie Deli when we go to New York. This time we went the night before and order a corned beef sandwich between the two of us (if you have a refrigerator in your room). We had them pack the pickles and bread and mustard separately and brought it on the train the... More

This is a NYC icon that serves delicious food. I loved the Reuben sandwich. The cuts were fresh and thick. I visited with friends from outta town. There was a wait but the food was worth the worth.

This was my second trip to NYC and one of my top priorities was to take my husband to Carnegie Deli. It did not disappoint!! It was incredibly crowded as usual but the Reuben was still absolutely AMAZING - big enough for the two of us to share and to still have some left-over. The meat melts in your mouth... More

If you want a taste of a traditional New York deli, this is the place. Oversized portions served by gritty staff who are fast and efficient although a bit on the brusque side, which adds to the experience. The walls are covered in photo's of celebs and seating is comfortable. Go hungry, although sharing is acceptable.

I have visited manhattan three times now and this time was determined to give this place a go after seeing the restaurant on master chef Australia . My daughter and I went after the theatre so it was late but this deli was still busy with tourists and I guess there lies the story . It seems to be a... More

The Carnegie Deli has had a reputation for amazing food served to thousands of celebrities. Although I have been to NYC many times, I had never been to the deli before so I thought I should try it. Big mistake! The ambiance is exciting and the portions certainly live up to their reputation but be aware that the staff, at... More

The worst of both worlds: bad chinese waiters serving bad jewish food. Tasteless matzah balls and spongy barely warm pastrami sandwich. What's more the servings are huge...Too much good food, i can understand. But too much bad food ?!

If you have not been to a New York Jewish deli - you have wasted your visit ! Carnegie Deli is one of the oldest great Jewish eateries, where the quality and character of food as well as service has been consistent for nearly 100 years. Try the overstuffed pastrami sandwich and new-dill pickles! Everything tastes as if prepared by... More

the portions are huge but you do pay for it. The food was great...but they only accept cash..NO CREDIT CARDS. There is an ATM there, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Lovely atmosphere , friendly staff explained the food where needed. As you might imagine the food was great but huge . My Pastrami on potato had 1lb of meat in it all topped with molten cheese. Cheesecakes were to die for but share one !
