And this is coming from a very picky Italian who was with me there. There food is fantastic and all their products are genuine, it was like eating in one of Italy's finest restaurant. This ex-garage turned restaurant is creative, bold and delicious. I still smile when I think how much we ate that day.

A total cool place with great atmosphere. I got to the restaurant a bit before 6pm and within a half hour the place was totally happening. Rock star chef Jonathan Waxman and famous for the fire roasted chicken. Everything on the menu seemed to hit the just right food note. Quality, portion and presentation. the desserts were delicious, too. Super... More

Where to eat in New York City? Only 8200 restaurants on Trip Advisor to choose from...this was a winner! Went for brunch on a Sunday; sat outside. Complimentary olives started the meal. Brunch menu consisted of egg dishes, salads and a few entrees. Our party enjoyed the veggie fritatta and the baked eggs with spinach. In a lunch mood, I... More

But really Brilliant ! Best food in NewYork, great atmosphere and location in an old garage. Superb service. Melt in your mouth chicken, great risotto, top spuds and at the end of it, amazing value as well. Very down to earth, packed but not overly so and at the end of it all, very good value. This is one not to... More

We were in love with the Kale salad, but the garage venue is brilliant. Obviously popular with the locals because we had to wait every time we dined - but it was worth it! Great wine selection and knowledgeable barman. An all round delight in New York!

Had lunch yesterday and was amazed at how delicious everything was. Shared a pizza topped with fontina cheese, spicy sausage and kale and the chicken sandwich and was blown away. The pizza was thin crusted and melted in your mouth, the sandwich was succulent and made you feel all warm and fuzzy. I cannot explain how wonderful the food was... More

We had a part of 10 and reserved the chefs table in the kitchen...what a blast!!! Everything was served family style, and the food just kept coming!!! All the dishes were fantastic, and the vibe right in the middle of everything was SO fun! A truly unforgettable evening!

went back to barbuto for the second time in a month after telling friends that jonathan waxman's chicken was the best chicken ever. i have cooked his chicken dish as well as his red-pepper pancake dish with creme fraiche, some months ago, there was an article in the food section of the new york times about where the top chefs... Somehow I forgot about this great little place until a friend suggested it for lunch recently. Barbuto reminded me of all the great things about the Meatpacking District before it became so trendy (it's more on the fringe of the more commercial area). It was kind of fun to watch all the models with their books, rushing off to go-sees... More

First, when I called them 15 minutes before we were due to arrive and told them that we had 7 in our group instead of 6, they graciously accommodated us, and even moved us to a slightly bigger table to make us more comfortable. We did the tasting menu, which was fantastic, all the dishes were superb. Jonathan Waxman greets... More
