After seeing the Barking Dog on a list of the best dog friendly restaurants, we decided to try the brunch with our four legged friend. After seeing how packed the outside part was, we knew it had to be good. We were also no where near the only people with a furry friend as the patio was crawling with fidos.... More

We had an enjoyable family breakfast here. The food was great and the service was good. My son loved his chocolate chip pancakes, and they were able to accommodate a special request for hard boiled eggs from my 4 year old daughter. She was thrilled! My husband and I also enjoyed our meals. Good value too!

As British tourists staying nearby, went to The Barking Dog for breakfast. Is a typical New York diner, predominantly for locals. Had a fabulous breakfast - enormous stack of pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs (sunny side up!) hash browns, coffee, juice etc. I wouldn't describe this place as a destination diner and we wouldn't have sought it out, but we were... We were staying with our niece who lives on East 34th Street so Barking Dog was nice & convenient. Breakfast was so good the first morning we went back & enjoyed it the next day! Service is fantastic, food was served within minutes which was great because we had a packed agenda to complete! Staff and service was great. The... More

Came here after a 5k run in Central Park with 3 other people, and we were ravenous. Brunch menu was on and I had eggs benedict, which was superb. Great sauce, tasty ham, and awesome hash on the side. Everyone else enjoyed theirs too. Vibe is chilled, laid back, nothing fancy. Had a couple of Mimosas, which were very strong... More

We've eaten at the Barking Dog Luncheonette twice now, and have had a lovely experience both times. We have the country breakfast special (fantastic value) or french toast, and everything is delicious, comes out quickly, and servers are helpful. But the best part about the Barking Dog is its location and atmosphere. Located on a corner on the Upper East... More

We had dinner there yesterday evening. The food was not too bad - standard fare, but grand. The portions were MASSIVE! Dare I say it, but too big?! This seems to be a theme in the US. The wine wasn't great. Meant to be Pinot Grigio, but hard to drink. Coffee also poor. Staff were polite.

Food here is decent. Salads and omelets and soups are better than average, and they can make a good shepherd's pie, too. Wait-staff range from sweet to clueless. The big problem is with the guy running the place. This cheap sob won't turn the air-conditioner on in July, using the excuse that they have "out-door seating," which they do ,... More

Our group of 8 ladies ate here twice on our recent visit to NYC. We passed by this restaurant on way from subway on Sat night and picked up their menu. Sounded good to us so we went there Sun for brunch. Nice selection of either breakfast items or lunch type items. We enjoyed it enough that we went again... More

Since the UES location is within walking distance of our apartment we have eaten here quite a few times. Although everything we had has been good, with very hearty portions our favorites remain the Meatloaf and the Cobb Salad (see pics). The meatloaf was outstanding the the portion was large enough that my wife and I could have easily shared... More
