Had dinner at Union Square Cafe last week and it was wondeful. As usual, the service was fantastic (Christian is a great server!) and the food was perfect. The drinks are delicious but strong - beware. The atmosphere is lively but elegant. This is a great restaurant and I will definitely return on a future visit to the city.

I know the sous chef from Puerto Rico Pepe invite me in for a beer @ the bar. Then he went to work and a friend join me @ a table. The place was full. The service was immediate and we tried like 3 different pastas. The one with the greek yogurt was my favorite. Thanks to all the staff... More

Hardly ever, if ever, do I rate anything overall as excellent as there are almost always enough little details that derail me from such rating. This, however, is one of the times that a place earned an excellent overall rating from this end, and it is all based on the food. From the time we arrived, to the time when... More

I never make reservation--since I do not know when and where I will dine. But friendly bartender, generous napkins, full menu...if you are alone or no-reservation: the Bar is your choice! Enjoy the 3 stars experience.

Ate a salad and Beef carpaccio as appetizers. Both were good and what we expected. As a main course we had Rohan duck (medium rare) and Roasted chicken. Both were "french" cuisine. Very plain with an essence of fat and salt. Bistro type food. Nice ambiance and service helpful.

We had not been to the Union Square Cafe for a number of years, but our prior meals there were outstanding. This time it was less so. The greeting staff was gracious and our waitress was charming and very professional. The food, however, was not up to the rest of the experience. The appetizers were very good. The entrees were... One of the nicest places I have eaten at in New York. What makes it great is a combination of really good food, wonderfully courteous service and charming atmosphere. Probably in each of these departments alone it has many competitors but as a package few come close. The food is very high quality and yet normal, not trying too hard... More

Everything at Union Square Cafe was top notch from food to service. We had several "snacks" off the menu. All were delicious and pleasantly presented. I am generally not a fan of ground meat but the lamb meatballs were great. I also enjoyed the beets and crispy pig ears. It was hard to pick an entree as they all were... More

We had no reservations, but I tried lunch for 2 ppl at peak lunch time. Luckily, we were accommodated and I advised the hostess we were in a rush. I had a recommended gin based drink- delicious, salad and a fabulous burger. My guest had salmon- equally delicious. It was quick, high quality, delicious. The restaurant was full and some... More

I went here with my sisters to celebrate my birthday and I'm happy to say we made a great choice. Our server, Max, made the experience that much better. I have to admit we were all a little snockered because of the pre-dinner drinks we had, but Max took it all in stride and topped it off by personalizing my... More
