Small and quaint. Service was good. Portion sizes are large and the food was good. Would return again if in the area.

Small restaurant, quiet atmosphere where you can hear each other converse. Relatively inexpensive menu. Katsu/egg and sashimi combo excellent as was the udon. Friendly service but a bit slow bringing the food.

We stumbled into this lovely Japanese restaurant our first night in NY. Food was authentic and delicious, prices were reasonable and the staff was amazing. They were so accommodating and friendly. We had a terrific meal.

The title says it all. Surprisingly good Japanese food in mid-town for surprisingly little money. Our party of three had norimaki, fried oysters, tempura udon, agedashi tofu, unagi rice bowl, some great steamed vegetables, and some wonderfully hardcore green tea ice cream. ISE has a fantastic selection of lots of varieties of Japanese food - sushi, sashimi, Udon, etc. Service is very good and attentive. The restaurant has a small intimate feel to it; just like many small restaurants in Tokyo.
