The food is impeccable as well as the service. While not cheap, you leave feeling every morsel was worth the price. Extreme attention to detail from the canapes to the take home pops to leave the restaurant with. Four of went and all ordered different appetizers and entrees. Especially delicious was the duck, but every bite of every dish was... More

A great place to get hammered on Aquavit while you have a great meal. Its Scandinavian / french food goes fabulously well with the drinks.

Quite authentic Swedish delicacies in the most elegant restaurant in one of the most elegant streets in NYC. The success of this restaurant over 15 years since my first visit is surely due to the consistency of the food and the service as well as the elegant ambiance. Prices justify visits on special occasions.

Aquavit has been around a long time, but they were recently awarded their first Michelin Star, and in my opinion a very well deserved and long overdue recognition. The food is innovative, beautifully presented and above all fantastic tasting. The service is very attentive and friendly. This is a fancy upscale restaurant for special occasions, but it never feels stiff.... More

While not inexpensive, Aquavit is trully worth every penny you pay. The chef is very creative and know how to offer an excellent meal that looks and tastes superbly. Superb service to match in an uncrowded and elegant settings. I understand the restaurant has been around for 25 years - It surely deserves lots of accolades for offering such superb... More

A very upscale restaurant with a casual atmosphere. The style of the food would be some sort of Mediterranean/French fusion. My GF and I went for the non-wine pairing course menu (they had 2 course sets, a Winter set and one where you select your own courses). We decided to get the one where you pick your own courses (unfortunately... More

Aquavit usually is not open on Sunday, but they offered an Easter brunch that proved a disappointment. The $75 prix-fixe brunch included a smorgasbord with tasty if not expansive or especially innovative options, along with a choice of three pretty standard entrees: salmon, Swedish meatballs & lamb. While attractively presented, the meatballs were dry and the salmon looked under-cooked. No... More

One of the most exciting and innovative restaurants in NYC--surprising for a Swedish restaurants, but it's not your father's Swedish restaurant. The food is remarkably innovative and incredibly yummy. Just as an example, one of my amuse bouches included smoke! But it wasn't a gimmick--the flavor of the smoke that had escaped when they opened the jar had already permeated... More

The service was impeccable. The food was creative, cutting-edge, divine. The presentation was thoughtful. The pace was perfect. It was an expensive meal, and it should have been... it was worth every penny.
