We went one night after a somewhat serious play so the singing staff was a very different experience. The serving staff takes turns singing solos and duets. They are really talented because these people are trying to be noticed to get on Broadway. The food is a case of quantity not necessarily quality. It wasn't bad, just a little plain.... More

I can't imagine there'd ever be a chain of "Ellen's" in other cities because the talent of the waiters (performers) could only exist here. If you love musical theater you've GOT to make room on your list of things to do while visiting New York for a stop here. The waiters are all Broadway hopefuls with a few each week... More

What could be more quintessential NYC than wanna-be waiters and waitresses performing while serving diner food? On our last morning in NYC, we stumbled on to this restaurant while looking for breakfast. It was great fun listening to the kids perform as they waited tables. Our waitress told us that all of the staff have to audition for their jobs,... More

Where else can you get broadway theater and good diner food? This was such a fun place to go. The waiters had amazing voices. Seriously!! This was not some cheap Karaoke. These people could seriously sing. The food was average but the entertainment was totally worth it. It is really fun.

Ellen's was so fun we went twice, in four days!! The singing waiters and waitresses are wonderful! They are all broadway-quality talent! If you go, wait on a table on the bottom floor. You really don't get the feel for it sitting upstairs. It's worth the wait! Have your camera ready and be ready for a good time. Your food... More

Went in by chance and loved every minute of it. Had no idea that the place was going to be so lively, friendly and atmospheric. The waiters were very efficient considering they spent half their time singing. I suspect the food was only average, but we didn't care. I recommend a visit to this Diner as an experience, but beware... More

Ok, so food wise, it is a diner, Great selection but stick to the basics and you shouldn't be dissapointed. Besides, you are there for the show the wait staff puts on anyhow. They are amazing and we wished we could have stayed for hours!!! The dessert was the best part about the food. They have an amazing pastry chef... More

Went to Ellen's Stardust Diner as a result of 2 very strong recommendations. There was a queue when we got there which wasn't a problem because we were seated very quickly so don't be discouraged and leave. You enter to a very typical diner set up but the difference is that you are entertained for as long as you choose... More

This is a really fun place to eat. The food is overpriced but they make up for it with the entertainment.
