You would think an Italian restaurant in NYC would offer great pasta in a pleasant setting where diners could converse and enjoy the experience. Not in Baraonda. Unless you like tomato sauce that has more salt than a can of Campells Soup and disco music loud enough to drown out the Three Tenors find another place to dine.
I've visited Baraonda a few times in the past two months and the food was consistently fresh and well prepared. I would say the main attraction for me was the decor, the paintings on the walls are reminiscent of a different era and place, not necessarily Italian.
