Description: Persepolis Is a Persian/ Mediterranean restaurant with a dynamic atmosphere and 20 years of experience! We are located in the Upper East Side on 2nd Avenue & 73rd Street. Our chef San Sethachutkul’s goal is to serve the finest Persian Feast and the best ingredients available from local markets & Persian imports. We prepare a simple yet creative menu that highlights those ingredients. The restaurant is famous for verity of kebabs and refreshing salads and gently spiced grilled meats. The yogurt and cucumber blended with a little mint is made exceedingly well and is an ideal cool compliment to Persepolis’ rounds of Pita & Barbari bread. Our kebabs which include moist and delicious salmon or saffron chicken are served without heavy sauces. Instead they are served with a choice of four rices including an intriguing blend of Basmati rice and marinated sour cherries. Our personalized wine list truly compliments our cuisine. We also offer a full classic bar. We look forward to seeing you!

My wife and I had lunch at Persepolis. Reviews recommended the stews, especially the Khorest Fesenjan (chicken with pomegranate and walnuts). It's simply amazing served with rice and sour cherries with marvelously subtle tastes and flavors. It alone is "worth a trip" to the UES (Upper East Side) restaurant when you're going or coming from the many museums in the... More

The assortment of Persian appetizer dips was great. We enjoyed the warm Persian bread. No need for the main entrees after that! The lamb, lemon chicken, various rice dishes were excellent. There were 7 adults and 5 children...everyone including the 3 year old twins enjoyed the dips and the meat entrees! We had a nice table somewhat away from the... More

Upper east side location; very interstiung selction of persian food. the beef kabobs and the rice were very different than many mideast restaurants and quite good. The atmosphere was nice, and it was fairly quiet. The persian deserts were good

Dined there Saturday night with some friends, we did appetizer selections, they were just fabulous, as was the focaccia-like bread we got with it on top of pitas. Especially loved the eggplant appetizers, just spectacular. Honestly, we could have ordered more of this stuff and made a meal of it as is, the food was so good. Also ordered a... More

A friend living in NY introduced us to Persepolis. One of the best restaurants I have eaten in in NY. The pre fix was a real bargin The chicken stew was excellent as well as the salads and the Basmati rice. Service was attentive and fine tuned our reunion of friends.. This is my 3rd visit to the restaurant. I had lamb this time: four small rib chops, and it was excellent. My daughter loves the pomegranate chicken stew. There are 3 different types of persian rice, and you must try all 3! I also recommend the trio of eggplant appetizer. And then, there are the desserts. there is ice cream... More

We were a large party of 13, all Persians, all visiting from different corners of the world, had dinner there on a Saturday night. The crowd was mostly non-Persians. The service was very good and attentive, the food quality was excellent, great wine selection. I liked the ambiance, not too bright, not too dark. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We went to Persepolis to celebrate a special occasion on a beautiful autumn day. We chose to sit outdoors because of the beautiful weather but looking back in hindsight, we should have sat indoors - it's not entirely romantic sitting with all the construction work across the road and the traffic on 2nd avenue. The salad we ordered was -... More
