Description: The newest restaurant from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, Maialino is a neighborhood Roman trattoria overlooking Gramercy Park. Lovingly designed by the Rockwell Group, Maialino is located on the first floor of the Gramercy Park Hotel and captures the warmth and comfort of a traditional Roman trattoria, re-imagined for its contemporary setting. Serving authentic Roman cuisine from Executive Chef Nick Anderer, Maialino is open throughout the day, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests are greeted in a front bar area that serves as a local coffee bar in the morning and later transforms into a lively wine bar serving small plates. In the center of the restaurant are salumi, cheese and dessert stations, where guests are tempted by some of the food that awaits them. Beyond, the trattoria features warm, saturated colors, wood planked floors, wainscoting, and windows overlooking the Park.

I came straight from my trans-Atlantic flight to join colleagues for dinner. Patrick had told me it was hard to get in, so I was certainly not going to miss it. We were served, improbably, but I swear it's true, by a fellow called Michelangelo. Yeah, well he mispronounced Medici, so I guess he's a few generations removed from his... More

I went to Maialino for lunch and I must say I've loved it. We were a party of 4 and had some nice starters and then a delicious pasta, some of us had trippa (fantastic if you like) and others pulpo. For pasta I recommend the malfatti, with suckling Pig, it's awesome. If you have time I recommend to enjoy... More

We had our last brunch here. We had lunch here last time we were in NYC and since we enjoyed it and they are one of the few places that start serving brunch at 10 we picked this place and it did not disappoint. Their French press coffee was pretty good and we started it with their tasty bar patatine... More

I've been to this restaurant 30 times. It is consistently perfect. The food is gorgeous and presented beautifully, rooted in few ingredients that are all "Farm to Fork" fresh - the cornerstone of truly great Italian food. The menu changes regularly - although some of my favorites remain constants. The service is casual, attentive and perfect. The staff are always... More

Like the other Union Square Hospitality restaurants, Maialino was perfectly decked out with lots of warm wood and the large dining room was broken into smaller areas. The staff were extremely professional. As for the food, my spaghetti carbonara was absolutely perfect. The pasta was cooked al dente and really captured the cheese and butter, and the guanciale was wonderfully... More

Begin your visit to Maialino with a leisurely walk through the lobby of the adjoining Grammercy Park Hotel. Enjoy the dark wood paneling and the unusual art collection. Butterflies and bubblegum? Perhaps a drink at the cozy lobby bar? Our most recent dine at Maialino was on a very busy Sunday evening. Staff was more than gracious, even though more... More

I really enjoy the brunch at maialino. I took the spaghetti alla carbonara, they were good but not so good... I liked so much the free focaccia that they bring and the carciofi fritti (fried artichockes) . They have a great chose of artigianal italian beer , and really good wines. I really liked it even of it's expensive...

I went to eat there by myself. Service was very good, and the food was excellent. I had the fried artichoke as an appetizer, and the special that evening, which was a pork dish, extremely well cooked. Definitely will go back again.

We've been several times and got the same things as we'd had before. The wine (Il Templare) was excellent. The Malfatti Maialino was not as good as we'd remembered--it seemed to have been too "brightened". Chocolate torte dessert was very nice.

We absolutely love this place. The service, the decor and most important the food is out of this world!!!! Dessert too is great. We love getting the suckling pig it never disappoints! Then again we are never disappointed - will return for Mothers Days for their brunch.
