I've been going to Pearls on Amsterdam and 99th Street for many years. The food has always proved to be good consistent chinese/american fare with an accent on Szechuan flavored dishes. It is family friendly.

I've been going to Pearls on Amsterdam and 99th Street for many years. The food has always proved to be good consistent chinese/american fare with an accent on Szechuan flavored dishes. It is family friendly.
Pearls can be jammed with neighborhood people, but my opinion is not all dishes are terrific. I have found some to be very bland for my tastes, and I stick to just a few menu items. Little Bit of Everything soup, Hunan pork, Chow Fun. Lo Mein.
The lunch is reasonable. Some of the dinner specials I feel are overpriced....
