I've been going to Pearls on Amsterdam and 99th Street for many years. The food has always proved to be good consistent chinese/american fare with an accent on Szechuan flavored dishes. It is family friendly.

Pearls can be jammed with neighborhood people, but my opinion is not all dishes are terrific. I have found some to be very bland for my tastes, and I stick to just a few menu items. Little Bit of Everything soup, Hunan pork, Chow Fun. Lo Mein. The lunch is reasonable. Some of the dinner specials I feel are overpriced.... More

My husband and I went here for dinner one Sunday night. It was very quiet because it is the week of July 4th and the city is very empty of residents. We had the fried pork dumplings, crystal shrimp dumplings, egg roll, crispy shredded beef and singapore rice noodles. The dumplings, sauce and egg roll were excellent. The beef was... More

Ate here twice within a few days. Both times, I loved the food, but found the service to be surly/neglectful

This place in Times Square has excellent food enough in the portions to share. However the service was awful to put it mildly. The person running the register did not acknowledge us to seat us, someone came from the back to show us to a table. The waitress barely had the time to waste on taking our orders. Never did... More

My family and friends have eaten at Pearls Chinese restaurant many times. Recently we reserved for a large birthday party of twelve people. Once again, Pearls service and food did not disappoint, as everything we ordered and shared family style -- soups, appetizers, entrees -- was delicious! Pearls lives within a plethora of high profile restaurants on the upper West... More

To start the food was good but that always isnt what makes me want to eat some place. Unfortunatly everything else was not so good. First we were made to wait 10 min for a table when there were quite a few open. The problem was several employees were busy chatting with each other about another employee. This was done... More

Seriously. I've lived on the Upper West Side for 10 years, and I'm sure I've eaten at every Chinese restaurant. This one is my favorite. Free white wine, VERY tasty food, nice people, low prices. WE have parties here a lot, since they gladly accommodate large gatherings. What more could you want? I've been going here since they were on... More
