This restaurant, in the Italian quarter of Boston, is tucked away in a cobbled square - v. atmospheric. The food was excellent; I ate the carpaccio followed by the rabbit pasta; v authentic Italian and full of flavour. The californian CS we drank with it was superb. Service was sharp and polite.

My wife and I were in Boston on business from London. We looked through restaurant guides and chose Mamma Maria over the Concierges choice in our hotel (The Omni Parker House) and I think we won hands down! The food was authentic Italian, made from fresh and very high quality ingredients. The serving staff were knowledgeable and attentive. The wine... More

When you bumble over the cobblestone steps just past Paul Revere's actual home and see the restaurant entrance tucked humbly in front on you, you exclaim in delight - how could this be a real place still in working order in 2013? But it is. A multi-story beautiful building that seems like a home from the late 1700s welcomes you.... More

My first time to Mamma Maria and I was not disappointed. Had Sean as our waiter and he reviewed with us everything on the menu honestly. His attention to detail won me over as my new favorite italian restaurant in the North End.

With so many Italian restaurants in Boston, it is very hard to decide on one. After speaking to people at our hotel we decided to have dinner at Mamma Maria. We walked up the steps to the front desk and the manager was standing there looking at the seating chart, 6 people walked in after us (There is very little... More

Went to eat here on a busy saturday night. Taken to table at time reserved. Sean, our waiter, probably the most knowledgeable and helpful server I have ever had. Food was wonderful, appropriate sized portions, full of flavor. Wine list extensive(a bit pricey), but paired really well with food upon recommendation. A tad noisy, but folks all seemed to be... My mom and I visited for her 70th birthday and had a wonderful evening. The location is charming on a small square across from Paul Revere's house. If you drive - use the valet, parking is impossible. We were seated up stairs in a lovely glassed-in porch area. Our waitress was terrific, she realized we were not in a hurry... More

Beautiful location and ambiance, special and unique Italian dishes and good service. The only thing we wouldn't order again were the razor clams but the rabbit pasta, clam and crab pasta and osso buco were incredible. The wine selection was exceptional and for a special night out, can't be beat. Will absolutely come back!

Went her for my 11 year anniversary. Very impressed with the food. We definitely went over the top with our meal. We each got cocktails (delicious), apps (delicious), wine (delicious), entrees (delicious), dessert (delicious), and dessert wine (delicious). The meal, including tip, was about $215. So, it's definitely an expensive place. With that said it was absolutely worth the money... More
