The view was terrific and the food was disappointing especially since it was an EXPENSIVE dinner. The service tried to be attentive but they were slow. Our party of eight had a variety of dishes and NONE were special just semi average. The restaurant was also dated in decor. I DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE A RETURN CUSTOMER.

I would dine here with my grandparents. It was one of their favorites in the area. For a while, we celebrated Thanksgivings as a family here with them.

At one time, I think Anthony's Pier 4 was a real 5 star dining experience. Those days have since passed and now Anthony's is really just another somewhat overrated seafood restaurant. The restaurant itself sits on a prime piece of South Boston real estate with amazing harbor and city views. The service is generally good, but the food is extremely... More

The view is AMAZING. The food is average. The service is good. The cost is expensive. The finishes of the restaurant are dated but you are too busy looking at the river to care. The restaurant is loud so you do not go there for a romantic dinner.

Haven't been for many years but booked a table for a special event. It was very expensive and the quality of food was highly variable. Boston offers much better..will not be back. Staff was friendly and attentive. Waiter was not very familiar with menu and said everything was good.

The staff is friendly and attentive and the list of white burgundies reasonably priced. The view is pleasant -- this restaurant sits on the water. The food is not worth the 10 minute trip from our hotel. The bread was tough and the popovers just this side of burned. We both ordered fresh halibut in different sauces. Both sauces were... More

Visiting Boston on business.....friends/co-workers suggested Anthony's Pier 4 for a kick off dinner. So very glad they did. Of course I enjoyed the company....but the view (windowside table) and the lobster were fantastic......the atmosphere was very nostalgic, with photos of famous past guests. The best part was the service! Wish I could remember our server's name....'mature' gentleman.....he was very knowledgeable... More

My husband and I took our daughter and son-in-law on a sentimental journey to Anthony's Pier 4 for lunch on Saturday. It was exactly as we remembered from years and years ago. White table cloths, and bright blue glassware..very striking. The only thing different was that there were only three tables of diners at 1 pm on a Saturday! Before we... More

This is one those places you should go to at least once if you are in Boston. Great decor and ambiance. Excellent food. Unobtrusive but prompt and attentive staff. We enjoyed the meal and the view from our table at the window.

My dad says when in Boston it was the place to go. I don't understand the naysayers. In fact, Zagat's reviews gave me some pause- they only rated it 18. WTF!!!!! The stuffed lobster was perfection. So was my companion's New England Plate. The oysters and escargot tasty. So was the service. It is classic Boston and great food. Would... More
