Don't let the rickety ramp fool you, the doorway isn't wide enough and they can't or won't open the other panel. Civil rights, anyone?
We found this place in our Road Food book and the food sounded so awesome that we made it on of our "must dos" for breakfast while in Asheville. It's not easy to find since it has only a small sign and it looks like it's an apartment. We weren't sure about this place based on the exterior so we... More
Saw the Food Network segment on Tomato Jam Cafe so had to stop by for breakfast yesterday morning on our short visit to Asheville. It was wonderful! The cat's head biscuits are huge... insides are light, fluffy and very tasty! The tomato jam was sweet but not too sweet and you wouldn't know the jam was made from tomatoes, a... More
Ate the lunch menu and had the friday special which was the black bean hummus wrap. My mother had the Red Hen chicken salad. Our sides were tomatoe soup and slaw. Both were very good. The hummus wrap had a bit of a kick, which was nice. The chicken sals had cranberries and were a very nice surprise. The atmosphere... More
Tomato Jam is in a cramped little space on Biltmore Avenue, not much to look at, but one of the best sandwich places in Asheville. I love it. Great food, well prepared, generous portions. They have a daily special, usually the best thing on the menu. Friendly, funny staff.
My family and I ate here for breakfast while on vacation. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The tomato jam and biscuits are amazing. I would recommend this place!
Served with tomato basil soup, it is a great lunch. My wife loves this little place that serves simply good food. Small, friendly, and interesting. Because of close proximity to the hospital and doctor's offices, large takeout business.
Simple, great flavors, organic. The best tasting chicken I've ever had. Wish they were opened on the weekends, I was hoping to get a cathead biscuit Saturday morning.
Tomato Jam Cafe is one of those places locals know about but it's invisible to tourists. Good thing, too! This is a small place with limited seating and a few outdoor tables. You order at the counter and bus your own table. It's tucked away in an office park near Mission Hospital, and it is only open weekdays for breakfast... More
