Nice low key sushi bar and restaurant . Great sushi. Popular place for the locals. Must bring your own wine.

When you rate sushi, the foremostcriteria has to be freshness. The fish was delicious. Miso soup, too. We ordered take out on two occasions, so cannot comment on the service or atmosphere in the restaurant, but service and ease of take out order was fine. Sushi is an ideal Maui meal and Makawao Sushi didn't disappoint.
Poke was excellent. Atmosphere not so much. Service could be better. We were not disappointed in this little find.
The rudest service ever. Wow. it ended up we were in shock and then laughing So hard because it was almost comical. She never changes and we go because we like to see just how bad it can get.

I really like this place and eat here on each trip to Maui. It is a bit out of the way, and that is part of the ambiance I like. It is not a high-end LA style sushi bar, it has its own local flair; It is a family run business.

In addition to visiting Kihei Caffe at least once I also make it a point...

Dined for dinner, had baked California roll, avocado roll, spicy salmon hand roll and green salad. Delicious, fresh and service was friendly.
When I went there was no sushi (no sushi chef was there!). It's a bit dark and dingy, noodles i had were very average.
