Bubba's has no peer on Kauai where it comes to burgers. Kapa'a and Hanalei are both outstanding restaurants to eat great burgers. Ya they rock!

While probably pricier and not quite as high quality as Inn and Out Burger, Bubba's was a great choice for "normal" food for our young kids - good shakes ($5 ea.), good burgers but wish they'd hold the mustard and relish and add fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Decent, fast, a lot less than Kalypso's for a family of 4 for...

Had the teriyaki burger, plain but tasty. The don't recommend lettuce or tomatoes but will add if you want , ha! Great for a quick bite.
Great for the in-between time (hikes/beach/etc). When you don't want a sit down, but want satisfying food.
Loved the burgers and pickles. The range of toppings is fun and if you have never had a pineapple on your burger, you truly are missing out. Had ours in Hanalie, sat at a picnic table and people watched while we ate. Not fancy but worth the mess on your hands when your done.
This review is actually for the Bubba's burgers in Kapaa. Expected a decent burger after eating seafood for several days so we stopped at Bubba's. The burger was very overcooked and pretty small for the price. They put the fries up several minutes before the burgers were done so they were cold when we got our food.
I've never understood the hype with Bubba's. It's not even close to In N Out or Five Guys. Maybe because it's the only real burger place on the island. Don't get me wrong it's not bad, but I think you are paying more for the hype than you are for actual quality. Burgers patties are 1/6 of a pound. lol
The south Bubba's in Poipou has pretty good burgers but the one in Hanalei isn't up to it. Ordered a burger for takes out and all I got was the bun and 2 patties, nothing else, Maybe it was a goof up, maybe not but I did hear the north Bubba's was not as good as the one in the...

This is just an average, higher cost burger joint. The hamburger is just any old hamburger (but pricey), the fries were only ok, the hotdog tasted and looked like a store brand hot dog and the mango milkshake left a lot to be desired. The good thing about Bubba's is the outside seating where you can people watch.
Well, a hamburger is a hamburger, right? No! This was recommended to me by a friend and so we tried it out. Got the double patty burger, with cheese and grilled onions. I was genuinely surprised at how great it was. I would definitely go back!
