I've been enjoying the Friday fish fry's for years, but lately the fish has been soggy and service rushed. Slow down, that's what made it the best fish fry in town.

We’ve been to Germany many times, and when we need to re-experience this excellent ethnic cuisine, we always go to the Gasthaus! I highly, HIGHLY recommend their rouladen meal, followed up with their signature Bee Sting dessert . . . . . you will definitely leave satisfied! Also, the atmosphere is EXACTLY what you will experience when eating at an...

Although the appearance is very Bavarian the food is rather from south western Germany touching into Alsace (Flammeküeche). There is a good wine and beer selection. I took the pork shank with Sauerkraut and potato salad. The shank was a bit too well cooked for my taste but the sides were excellent.
May wife took the vegetarian noodles and they...

On a biz trip, my boss and I decided to honor our German heritage and experience The Gasthaus. Fantastic fresh baked bavarian pretzels, three kinds of wurst, sauerkraut, wienerschnitzel, spatzel, rouladen, red cabbage and a phenominal stein of Hofbrau Dunkel. A little overpriced. At this price, if I lived close by, I would visit a few times a year. If...

Our family went to the Gasthaus for the first time, and had high hopes. The ambiance is nice, and wow was it hopping. We arrived around 6:30, and the wait was only half hour. We were here for the Friday fish fry although only one of us ended up getting fish! That was the stuffed trout, which came with polenta,...

We ate here between Christmas and New Year and I was happy to see that the restaurant was still decorated for Christmas. Since I am originally from the Milwaukee area, and I am of German descent, it was tough for me to choose between the Friday night fish fry, and the German food. My German side won out, as it...

There is a restaurant in Waukesha, WI (20 miles due west of Milwaukee) that I consider to be the best German restaurant there is. I discovered the restaurant many years ago while teaching a week long class in Waukesha and even though I live South of Chicago, my wife and I will drive up to Waukesha just to eat at...

My boyfriend and I ate here last night and had the most wonderful experience. The restaraunt was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the staff were terribly nice, service was prompt, and the food was delicious.
We came in last minute without a reservation and the host went out of his way to give us the nicest table they had open anyway....

Our party of 8 enjoyed our evening here. You definately have to be interested in German food to get the full effect of the atmosphere and setting. Some of our party had the Friday night fish fry and said it was very good. Service was good and knowledgable. We were glad to have made reservations since they were very busy...

We went to the Gasthaus for a family birthday, we had a party of 11 people. The service in the bar was slow at first, but pick up once a second bartender was added. The drinks were good and average in price. The food was wonderful, and the desserts were great as well. There was a variety of specials ,...
