$32 for 1 entree and 1 beer each for 2 people. Fish taco had a tiny piece of perch and shrimp fajitas had 5 medium shrimp and for some reason 3 small shrimp on top of a large pile of grilled peppers and few onions. Service was slow. Salsa was decent, but chips were just ok. Should have gone to... More

Over priced food I wouldn't feed my dog, the best part was leaving! The waitress was gross and the yelling from the kitchen probably can be heard from the street! I don't have a clue how they are in business!

A reasonably-priced hole in the wall that has as-close-as-you-can-get-to-authentic Mexican food. Don't let the humble decor disappoint you - let it charm you. The fresh food will win you over. Served up with a bit of care-free attitude that is also endearing and typical of small towns.

Yes, it is a friendly serviced restaurant, but we went there to eat authentic mexican food and it definitely is far from being authentic. The rice and beans tasted like they were straight out of a can. The salsa may have been the only "authentic" food in the restaurant along with their habenero sauce and the guacomole.

Stopped in because of good reviews. Didn't disappoint. Food was good. Wanted to go back for breakfast burrito but schedule didn't allow. Owner was very friendly. Would go back again. One interesting observation: for a very small "hole in the wall" joint, they had a baby changing area in the bathroom. I thought that was a nice touch.

Mild salsa is too mild. Hot is too hot, go with the medium. The small stuffed burritto was huge and plenty for a hungry person to eat. The large was seriously enourmous. Food was very spicy even with medium sauce on it. Flavors were ok, but the portion size and prices were good value. Server was very friendly and attentive.

Our family had lunch here on a July Sunday. My husband, 2 teenage sons, and I loved everything! I'm pretty sure it was all homemade, right down to specially mixed salsa based on our spice preference when we walked in the door. The service was excellent - the restaurant owner waited on us and answered our barrage of questions like... More

We decided to try Hot Tamales for dinner on a Wednesday night. We were the only diners there, since it wasn't peak season, which was pretty romantic--the whole place all to ourselves! I kinda felt like we were in Mexico with the sombreros on the wall and other cool little decorative touches. The waitress had a good sense of humor... More

Took fish tacos to go. Were very good. Offered chips and salsa even though we weren't staying. Later kind of wished we'd have eatin in.

This place serves very good Mexican food but is hard to find as it's off the beaten path. We stumbled upon it and are glad we did. This isn't your commercial chain Mexican food, but real Mexican fare. Definately worth a trip to feed your spicy cravings.
