Historic Leon's. They've been here forever, so they must be doing something right! We didn't have any of the food, but the sundaes were terrific! Yummy hot fudge and when you ask for nuts, you don't get a sprinkle, you get a dense layer of fresh, crunchy roasted pecans. More than one cherry too. And of course, you have to... More

This place is totally worth a detour if going to our through Milwaukee. It isn't far off the highway, and it is a great break for a ice cream custard cone or hot fudge sunday. The old neon building is beautiful and worth taking a photo of. I believe it may be from back in the 40's. It doesn't get... More

Worth the trip south of town. Downtrodden area near St. Luke's hospital. A classic "drive in" style restaurant famous for its frozen custard. We got the Tin Roof sundae, in retrospect, wish we had gotten a cone with a flavor other than vanilla. A family owned business since 1942. Worth a visit -- not far from the airport -- could... More

There is not much to say....open since 1942 and still operated by the original family. There is only one reason that people return - their custard to incredibly awesome. We had butter pecan, though they rotate special flavors. Malts, shakes, sundaes, cones. Limited msandwich menu, but that's not why you're here. Mapquest this treasure (it is on a main street,... Greasy tavern/sloppy joe or whatever you want to call it. Gave us heartburn. Shakes were not even good. How can you screw that up if you are a frozen custard place? Paid for fries which we did NOT receive. Wonder why anyone goes there every time we drive by.

Still takes you back to the 50's. Never fails to leave me feeling sorta 'cool' after stopping in for a 'nilla cone. I do miss the popcorn stand that was in the lot.

Leon's is by far the best custard I've ever had. I live quite a distance but make the trip several times every summer. Highly recommend.

A Milwaukee icon that rivals Kopp's in quality custard. Small parking lot in a busy location and outside service make this a little inconvenient.

the best fudge, the most pecans, the best price People come from miles away for an icecream cone. The lines are long in the summer, but move quickly.

Best custard! Even when it's freezing outside there is always a line. I never fail to stop whenever I'm in Milwaukee. Their custard is a great value! You will not be disappointed! They have several flavors of custard & toppings to choose from. You're sure to find a favorite. Their pints are perfect to bring home & even stay frozen... More
