If you dont have anything nice to say...in this case.. try not to say much... Granted, its Chinese take out, I get that.. and with that said did not have high expectations for my order. “THE BEST CHINESE ANYWHERE!”

I've been eating at Main Kwong since 2003 and I love it! I've even had it for Christmas dinner!! Although I live 20 miles away now, I still will pick it up when I get to town.

I tried this place once when i first came to charleston and was living in a hotel. Every other place had shut down (or was closed) so did take out from here. Needless to say i never returned. My wife and I walked 2 miles to get there and seen a crowded very small place with just a few seats. We almost did not go in! We are very glad we did. We both had the bourbon chicken. Every town has a Chinese restaurant, but not every place has a Main Kwong. This is by far the BEST Chinese food I have ever had. Highly recommend it...try the crispy chicken if you can't decide.

Typical greasy Chinese take-out. Lots of it (for the price, anyway), unidentifiable meats, and rice rice RICE. Staff is very friendly and frequently includes a little box of cakes in take out orders.

I ordered the most American-styled Chinese food on the menu: Sweet & Sour Chicken with white rice and an egg roll. The egg roll wasn't anything special but the chicken was wonderful!
